New Orleans pastor faces sexual contact on plane charge

December 02, 2019

By JONATHAN BLEME (WTDN) — The president of a Louisiana bible college has been charged with sexually assaulting a student on a flight from Israel to New Jersey.  Cornelius Tilton, 65, of New Orleans, was seated next to a 19-year-old man on a flight from Tel Aviv to Newark at Liberty International Airport, according to federal prosecutors.  Prosecutors allege that Tilton touched the student inappropriately and grabbed the student's hand, allegedly forcing the victim's hand to touch Tilton in a sexual manner.

When the plan arrived in Newark on Saturday, Tilton was arrested by FBI agents, and was charged with abusive sexual contact.  He was scheduled to make his initial court appearance Monday.  If convicted, he could face up to two years in prison.
